Prepared in early 2016 and formally established in November of the same year, Memory of the World Knowledge Centre-Macau is the first academic center in the world recognized by UNESCO Memory of the World Programme (or Memory of the World Project). This center which is jointly executed by Library of City University of Macau (CityU) and Macau Documentation and Information Society (MDIS) is located in the library of CityU in Macau. It is dedicated to promoting protection and utilization of Macau’s documentary heritage, and strengthening the communication with the international communities. It also provides support in documentary research and academic activities for educational purpose and serves as a bridge to connect among local, adjacent areas and UNESCO World Memory Project.
