The Forum of Macau and UNESCO Memory of the World Programme──Access to knowledge viaaccess to archives and documents was held on 21 November 2016.
Historians, archivists, libraries, scholars, etc., will be invited to participate in the forum.
Simultaneous translation of English and Mandarin will be provided.
The Forumwill focus on the Centre’s development and connection with MoW. In Brief, the concerned topics will be the following:
Macau and MoW / MoW Studies
Mainly review Macau’s activities that connecting with MoW, studying the further development of the Centre, and exploringthepossibilitiesofestablishing training courses, or degree programme on the MoW for local regions and the Asia Pacific region.
Access to Knowledge
Reflecting access to documents as a key to knowledge, study the technology issue, how to use IT to access the archives, documents, and to record the memory, that providing a solid ground for exploring synergies with UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage (WCH), and Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) programmes.
Nomination
Discuss about the registers of documentary heritages to Memory of the World, the criteria, rules and regulations, and the requirements.
