The National Archives Administration of China announced the sixth batch of entries of China Archive and Document Heritage List on 9 June 2025, which was also recognized as the UNESCO Memory of the World National Register, with a total of 52 inscriptions. Among them was the Archives and Manuscripts of Macau Kiang Wu Hospital Charitable Association (1857-1961) of which the application was jointly submitted by City University of Macau Memory of the World Knowledge Centre--Macau and Macau Documentation and Information Society. The extensive collection with a total of 5,400 items covers archives and manuscripts of the Kiang Wu Hospital Charitable Association spanning from 1857 to 1961, including archives, old photographs, letters, plagues, paper scrolls, inscriptions, meeting minutes, event reports, contracts, etc.

The collection provides comprehensive coverage of documents that reflect the development of the association, including the notable contribution of prominent figures and community leaders, pioneering work on combining Chinese and Western medicine for treatment by by Dr. Sun Yat-sen; as a underground member of the Chinese Communist Party, Dr. Ke LIN served as the president of the Macau Kiang Wu Hospital as well as the head of the underground communication network of the Chinese Communist Party in Macau during the World War II, responsible for the party's affairs in Macau. In addition, the collections also reflect the historical facts of international rescue and sheltering refugees, providing common education, assisting public governance, etc. The well-preserved and complete documents are mostly sole copies, witnessing the association's significant contributions during major historical periods, from the turmoil of the late Qing Dynasty, the suffering of people during World War II, and the upheavals of the Republic of China, to the development after the establishment of the People's Republic of China, especially the pioneering work in the combination of Chinese and Western medicine and its cultural integration, gender equality, humanitarianism, the role of "red merchants", and the promotion of Macau's connections with the Asia-Pacific region and the international community, revealing the unique and irreplaceable universal value and global significance of the collection.
